Middle School & Neighbourhood Drop-in
In addition to providing programs and activities at the New West Youth Centre and Queensborough Community Centre, New West Youth Services hosts after-school drop-in programs at local middle schools,
during the school year, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
What happens at Middle School & Neighbourhood Drop-in?
New West Youth Services facilitates drop-in programs that have less structure than a traditional recreation program. This leaves room for youth to be leaders of their experience and allows the program to have a low barrier to entry and create a space where everyone is welcome. Youth hang out with friends, play sports, challenge our staff to a game, or create their own fun! We think of middle school drop-in programs as a first step to independence. Youth can come and go as they please, with parameters set up for them with parents and guardians. Don’t worry - we have trained youth workers on every shift to ensure safety!
