Summer Special Events for Youth 2024

The New West Youth team has been working hard planning awesome events and activities to enjoy all summer long. See you there!

Events are open to age 11-18, some free or very low cost. Join us for outdoor sports pop-ups skateboarding, music and art in the park hangouts, bbq, and more.

​Side Kicks Soccer Pop-Up Friday, July 5, 5:00 - 8:00 pm @ New West Youth Centre/Moody Park Drop-in $1 or Free with Youth Membership	Get yourself on the pitch and score some goals at our soccer pop-up. After the game refuel with a BBQ back at the Youth Centre.
Bridge City Sound Park Takeovers Fridays, 3:30 - 5:30 pm Jul 12 & Aug 16 @ Moody Park Jul 26 & Aug 23 @ Westminster Pier Park FREE	Extra fun in a park near you! We'll bring the games and activities, prizes, and music from Bridge City Sound DJs. Get a quick DJ lesson or request your favourite song. Activities are targeted to youth but family and friends of all ages are welcome to join too.
Court Nights (11 - 18 years) Fridays, 5:00 - 8:00 pm Jul 19 & Aug 9 Moody Park Outdoor Court​ Drop-in $1 or Free with Youth Membership	Meet up for games, contests, and tournaments. There will be music, a little trash talk, and a chance to win! Put in some work then hang out for a BBQ. @New West Youth Centre / Moody Park Outdoor Basketball Court. We'll move things indoors if it's too hot or raining.
Skate Jam Thursdays, 5:00 - 7:30 pm 'Boro All Wheel Park July 18 Queen’s Park Skate Park August 8 FREE	Stop by with your board and your friends. Enjoy food, music, and friendly competitions for prizes! Weather dependent.
Volleyball Smash Squad Friday, August 2 5:00 - 8:00 pm @ Moody Park/New West Youth Centre Drop-in $1 or Free with Youth Membership	Spike, volley and rally outside at our volleyball pop-up. Smash some BBQ food after all the fun and hang out at the Youth Centre.
Seniors & Youth BBQ Blast Monday, August 26, 2:00 - 5:00 pm @ New West Youth Centre Moody Park Youth $1, Seniors $2	Fun under the sun and delicious food in the park! This event offers a chance for youth and seniors to come together and enjoy each other's company.
Grill n Chill Friday, August 30, 6:00 - 8:00 pm  @ New West Youth Centre or @Queensborough Community CentreDrop-in $1 or Free with Youth Membership	Close out the summer with an evening of BBQ and roasting marshmallows. There will be outdoor games, prizes, DJ’s for some music entertainment.
